La Víspera is a well-established organic herb farm. Herbs are dried and processed into delicious herbal blends on a daily basis. We also process herbal extracts & massage oils and make our own mango chutney, jams, rhubarb sauce & fruity nectars. Every Wednesday we harvest fresh vegetables, herbs and edible flowers for the health food market in Santa Cruz. Guests sometimes like to assist. |
Our horses are for rent, per hour, per day or even week. We can also arrange for you to ride accompanied by a local guide. See Tours. |

Exploring
the finca leaves you with the undeniable sense that this is old land.
The stone walls in the native park uphill are reminders of the old Inca road leading to the local sanctuary, the current ruins of "El Fuerte."
You never get bored of the views on the valley. |

Games, reading & dwelling in the present moment
In the garden café you´ll find games, photo books and comics. There is also an Inca chessboard on hand inviting a game. Our library offers books on local flora & fauna, birds and travel guides. Books to swop and for sale. The finca is full of idyllic places to rest, meditate, read your favorite book (finally), write your diary or simply gaze at the clouds or the mountains of national park Amboró, across the valley.

Pioneers
In 1989 Marga came up with the idea of showing "her Bolivia" to others: thus travel department Boliviajes was born. She subsequently spent 4 years as a guide, leading small groups around Bolivia, with a five-week "discovery journey".
We were then contacted by Dutch travel agencies, who asked us to develop tours in both the region as well as throughout the country. Pieter walked with Don Gilberto hundreds of kms through valley-area and even crossed the National Park Amboró in 18 days.
Samaipata got spotted and achieved its first entry in the Lonely Planet guide as a "Bolivian highlight".
