Pioneers.

In 1989 Marga came up with the idea of showing "her Bolivia" to others: thus travel department Boliviajes was born. She subsequently spent 4 years as a guide, leading small groups around Bolivia, with a five-week "discovery journey".

We were then contacted by Dutch travel agencies, who asked us to develop tours in both the region as well as throughout the country.
Pieter walked with Don Gilberto hundreds of kms through valley-area and even crossed the National Park Amboró in 18 days.

Samaipata got spotted and achieved its first entry in the Lonely Planet guide as a "Bolivian highlight".

Here you can find out about hikes & tours, spanish classes, massage, yoga, food & drinks, festivals, cultural events, movies, in Samaipata and throughout Bolivia.
